When: Tues 3rd Nov - Tues 8th Dec Venue: West 16th Cafe, North Dulwich Time: 10.00 am to 12.30 pm ​Cost: £240 ​​ Explore the art of portraiture through line, tone, colour and expressive paint. Taking inspiration from David Hockney, Lucian Freud and Alice Neel, this 5 week course will gently guide you through a series of portrait studies, building confidence step by step. ​ We’ll begin with simple observational drawing and expressive line, before moving into structure, light and shadow, skin tones, colour, brushwork and character. You’ll explore a range of materials including graphite, charcoal, coloured pencils, and acrylics. ​ With clear instructions and individual support, you’ll learn how to approach the face without getting caught up in perfection — focusing instead on looking carefully, building form and creating portraits with feeling and personality. ​​​ No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.​​​​​​​​​​
