🐟🌊 Under the Sea Creations! 🌊🐟

Our young artists have been busy bringing the ocean to life with these fantastic mixed-media artworks.

First, they sculpted and painted their own clay fish, carefully adding scales, fins and textures. Then they designed vibrant underwater worlds using collage, combining colourful papers, patterns and shapes to create coral reefs, seaweed and ocean habitats.

The contrast between the painted fish and the bold collage backgrounds makes each piece pop with colour and imagination!

Which fish would you choose to swim alongside? 🐠✨

From Pose to Form ✨

Our teen sculptors took inspiration from Henry Moore’s iconic reclining figures,
exploring how the human body can be transformed into abstract, flowing forms.

We began by creating our own poses, studying the twists, curves and negative spaces of the body. Using these real-life poses as a starting point, students then abstracted and simplified the figure, creating unique biomorphic sculptures in the round.

The finishing touch? A careful burnish with metallic paints, bringing out every contour and curve. Now, catching the sunlight, these sculptures look absolutely resplendent — glowing with silvery highlights and dramatic shadows. ☀️✨

We love how each piece captures the essence of a figure while becoming something entirely its own: organic, sculptural and full of movement.

They smashed it as usual - got the best bunch of kids in our teen clubs- if you have a child that enjoys art, wants some chill time away from school, wants to meet new friends, them get in touch.

First time ysing oil pastels for

Like so many art teachers, I have turned to David Hockney’s work time and time again over the years — as a source of inspiration, curiosity and pure visual joy.
His work has such a remarkable way of helping students really look: at colour, light, pattern, place, people, seasons, rooms, landscapes, swimming pools, trees, flowers, skies — all the ordinary things made extraordinary through attention.
In the classroom, Hockney’s work opens doors. It gives permission to be bold with colour, playful with perspective, inventive with materials and, above all, deeply observant. From his Yorkshire landscapes to his Californian pools, portraits, interiors, photo collages and iPad drawings, he showed us that art is not fixed — it is always moving, questioning, experimenting.
For me, his greatest lesson has always been the importance of looking closely and finding wonder in the world around us.
Thank you, David Hockney, for the colour, the courage, the wit, the freshness — and for reminding generations of artists, teachers and students that there is always another way to see.
